Since we don't actually have the release date for this film, I decided to put it on this category to share your thoughts.

"There are elves, trolls, dragons, and unicorns in the untitled Pixar film. On the poster, there’s a red dragon flying in a purple sunset sky above a city. “This film takes place in a fantasy world, but a modern fantasy world,” Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter told the crowd. “Magic used to exist, but it was too difficult to do. Unicorns are everywhere, they are basically rodents.” In this world, the unicorns eat out of the trash like possums."

Info taken directly from SlashFIlm.

Read the plot of the movie and more details on Pixar Post's post on it here.

I know that a lot of us were very eager to see what Pixar's next original project would be, as they will have no originals after Coco for two and a half years.

Please share your thoughts on what you think of this brand new project. I'll go first since I'm here.

This definitely sounds interesting. Pixar always experiments with different protagonists. We've gone from Toys, to Monsters, to Superheroes, to Robots, to Emotions, to Dinosaurs, now it looks like we're looking at all kinds of mythical creatures, dragons, elves, all that good stuff.

Not many details have been revealed, but the world seems very massive, and I can see this being a challenge for the director. I'm very much looking forward to more details arising. And of course this is Pixar so we have an emotional story of two brothers at the core, which is fascinating and I would love to see that dynamic done by Pixar.

The world that is being created here seems really fun in my opinion, there's a lot that could be done here honestly. Found this on Pixar's Facebook page, a little look at the world:

This project seems really cool, I've always liked fantasy worlds and concepts. It really depends on how the story turns out though, so we'll see.

Ugh, I totally misread this project. I thought the setup was a world where HUMANS stopped doing magic. I was expecting like normal human cities with magical creatures in them, like if you took the typical medieval fantasy and fast forwarded to modern times with all the magical creatures still around. It sounded really cool. And then I read more of the description, and that's not it at all.

So now I'm disappointed that's not happening.

This sounds like it could be fun, though. I'm much more interested in the "one more magical day with their dad" thing and the idea of magic being ditched for being too hard (though, admittedly, in most fantasies magic seems to not be widely used anyway) than the presence of magical creatures.

I just hope that there are no magical creatures acting like dogs. And while I'm sure it could be cute, and it wouldn't instantaneously ruin the movie or anything, I hope they don't go for the Good Dinosaur-esque, super rounded, toy-like designs.

And I know it'll never happen...but if this is successful, I would love it so, SO much if it prompted Disney to finally make Beastly Kingdom.

I can't believe that we have to wait that long until we see the final product. [bawl]

Forget Toy Story 4!! I want to see this along with the other untitled Pixar films instead!!!
