I know Bing Bong wouldn't be able to come back in a sequel, but I would love to see him again, and what better way than in a Short? Perhaps taking place when Riley is young. I think it'd be adorable.

I have mixed feelings on the idea of a second Inside Out movie, kind of like how some Toy Story fans felt before the 4th Toy Story was announced (though I've become excited about that one!). But a Bing Bong short would be really cool.

I would love a Bing Bong short! Bing Bong was one of the most likeable characters for me in Inside Out, his death was to me the saddest moment in the entire film. But I would love to see a short when Riley was little and playing with Bing Bong! Maybe they could be in a band (I heard Bing Bong plays a mean nose), or play hide and seek. There are so many possibilities. I would be fine with a sequel, but I think it is fantastic just as a stand-alone film!

Maybe an adaptation of the Bing Bong boardbook? Since that one takes place before the movie

Yeah, i think it would be a good idea, maybe since he was my favorite of the entire film

Heck yes!!! I actually think it would make a wonderful series of shorts or maybe even a half hour special!! Haven't got the chance the read the book yet but I would imagine many things that are feature in the book would adapt well into a short. I do also think Inside Out should be it's own stand alone film. Not only did it ended just perfectly, but it also gave us a relatable heartfelt story that can't ever be retold.

I'd love a Bing Bong short film too, and I am also not against the idea of an Inside Out Sequel. There is so much they could explore with it as its concept lends itself to so many idea that they have barely scratched the surface with what they have already done in the movie. Besides, Pete Doctor said "never say never" with regards to a sequel, and even recently said that they would consider looking at ideas or possibilities for a sequel [smile]

They could do a sequel, and I would be fine and I would be open to the idea, but I just think it is a great stand-alone movie, but if they make a sequel, I'll be super excited for it!

No.

It doesn't matter if technically by canon he's still dead, if he shows up in a short he's not dead to us, and that takes the edge off the whole thing.

Source please.

And I'm going to take a preemptive stab in the dark and presume "recently" means "After all the box office proceeds came in and the movie cracked the top ten highest grossing CGI animated films".

Fair enough! For me personally, whenever I see pictures/videos of people (and animals) in my life who have died, I feel the loss even more. It does lend a heartwarming slant to it, but I don't view them as "alive" just from seeing them in such ways. I'm a sucker for the bittersweet!

Yeah Bonnie we can understand your point of view, while it would take away from his death in the film, I think fans just want to see him return on the screen.

I'm torn - my initial thought was "heck yeah, that's a great idea". Then I thought, "well, Bonnie does had a point". OK, I'll stop quoting myself now and just say that my final thought is YES - I would love to see a short with Bing Bong. As far as the canon of him being dead now...that doesn't always stay true-to-form. I mean, Mike and Sulley were older in Monsters, Inc., but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't have been younger in the prequel. I get that it could take away from the impact of his fading away. They could just shoot back to when Bing Bong and Riley were in the heyday and I'd be OK watching it knowing this was before he vanished from her memory.

Agreed TJ, I would too love a Bing Bong short! I want it to be a flashback when Riley was young. And she and Bing Bong were in a band together. If the short is sucsessful enough who knows maybe they will make Bing Bong TOONS! No just kidding! But I really love the idea of a Bing Bong short!

I'd 110% would take a short series of Bing Bong Toons over Cars Toons any day!!

Well ThePolishGent, I don't know about that one, I do love Cars Toons!

Well there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! One thing's for sure is that I can still appreciate the scenery on both the movies and the short series of Cars despite it all being more kid oriented than for people that are much older. But in the end, it really doesn't matter. [smile]
