Pixar Post - T.J.
Many notes surrounding The Incredibles sequel have been swirling around since the film was announced on March 18, 2014. The fictitious storyline that has caught the most attention was the mention of the film taking place several years in the future with Bob and Helen retired...leaving the super work to Violet and Dash as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible look after Jack-Jack.

We always found it interesting how this gained ground, but we were assured even further that the supposed storyline was a fake when Brad Bird was chatting about the film during a PBS interview (April 2015) and mentioned that he had just begun work on the script. Well, I guess he was hit up with enough tweets from fans on Twitter and responded to a few of them...here's what he had to say.

I love that he calls out "reports"! Ha! It's just like that "article" that we all talked about here that mentioned the film coming out in 2016! Gotta' love Brad Bird!

Oh wow.

For the love of all things good people, seriously? Snapchat? All characters being teens? Please tell me he was just throwing out random absurd things and these are not serious rumors people believed. Cause some things really shouldn't require going to the writer to find out they aren't true.

I laughed at the Snapchat thing too. I just couldn't imagine that something so non-timeless and universal would enter a Pixar film. That would immediately date the film in a few years and would never make it in...at least in my opinion.

This goes for all other rumors out there too, (such as the infamously popular Jack-Jack siding with Syndrome rumors and the Dash vs J-J rumors), so basically this all but completely shuts down those rumors until we get official conformation.

If Dash is a teen, and Bob is on Snapchat, this is definitley false as the first film took place in the 1950's and Snapchat came out much later than that (2011 to be exact).

Exactly my point (although the actual plot was based in a retro 1960s America, yes the 50s were in it but was only during the beginning portion of the 1st film before the 15 year time skip).

Snapchat didn't become a thing til this decade (thank goodness), the only possible trend that the sequel may get would be the LGBT trend (which was around back in the 1960s, but was widely controversial at the time), hopefully if the sequel stays within the 1960s era, we might get a clean sequel without all of the trends we have right now.

Yes, a clean sequel. I'd like that too. [wink] Also, like others have stated, obviously the rumor is fake because SnapChat wasn't made until recently, and the film takes place during the 1950s and 60s.
