In Finding Nemo, Marlin and Dory embark on an amazing journey across the ocean to find Marlin´s long lost son Nemo. But everything seems to be an adventure, so I´m asking? Which one is your favorite.

1) We have Marlin and Dory, facing off three fierce (kind of) sharks that are going through a psychological treatment for NOT eating fish. (how clever!)

2) We have the duo escaping from an anglerfish who is "Not eating here tonight". Dory swears he´s on a diet.

3) We have a group of fish who won´t help and make awesome impersonations!

4) The race through the jellyfish pit. BOING BOING

5) The wonders of the australian current, meeting the turtles DUDE!

6) Being eaten by a whale. (how wonderful)

7) Being chased by seagulls while you are inside a pelican´s mouth. You know, the usual. MINE, MINE.

8) And who can forget the heart-pounding moment of Dory and Nemo, along with Tuna fish being trapped on a net! JUST KEEP SWIMMING.

My personal favorite is the Jelly Fish pit. Great cinematography on that one!

What´s your favorite scene!

The current. Some great shots, really fun, and funny.

For me I love the sharks and seagulls. But I really do love all of them, it is kind of like deicing my favorite Pixar movie (Really Hard). [Winking_zps1d9118ce]

I have always thought of Marlin and Dory's side of Finding Nemo as a bunch of mini-adventures, and I love how each one is unique and gives us a fun twist on sea life. My favorite obstacle is the jellyfish. It's mesmerizing, hypnotic, and the whole "through it, not over it" build-up is great. This scene is actually one of my favorites in Pixar history, and jellyfish are also my favorite creatures!

Pixar Post - Julie
What a great topic!

My favorite would have to be the shark scene. The comedy of the sharks along with the realism of the sharks predatory instincts with the explosions ending the scene. In fact, I elaborated on the technical details from this scene in our Director's Commentary Review - here's a little snippet:

Technical Director, Oren Jacob, detailed the extreme difficulty and detail needed for the underwater explosion (after the sharks touch a mine). It took weeks (maybe months) to get all the shots "just right" for a sequence that only lasted a matter of seconds. The team did mention that they tried to stay as high brow as possible with the humor but the one fart joke that Stanton said was unavoidable was with the birds after this explosion sequence..."nice", exclaims one bird to the other as a bubble from the explosion under the water rises to the surface.

This is defiantly one of my all-time favorite Pixar scenes.

Nice to hear from you Julie! I appreciate this website that you and T.J made, it is truly special and a treat. I can talk to people about my love for Pixar, cause in the real world I don't have anyone who's as big as a fan as me! So thank you!

And yes, it's fascinating to see all the detail and struggles that the Pixar people went through to make the explosions. It is truly hilarious seeing sharks fighting their instinct to eat fish and actually going to therapy for it! Pure Genius! And the fart joke is admirably one of the few fart jokes that actually make me laugh. My favorite scene is the Jellyfish scene. The cinematography is beautiful and so is the animation, the claustrophobic feeling and the fun, fast paced action. The three shark scene is undoubtedly amusing, and I love the diversity between every adventure. Every single place they enter has a different lighting, atmosphere, and overall feel to it. I CANNOT wait for Finding Dory

I can't wait for 'Finding Dory' either, until then we have to wait for 'Inside Out'. (114 days!)
