Who do you think the villian in Finding Dory will be?

My money's on no one. Cause the original didn't have one, unless you want to stretch a lot and claim the dentist or Darla was it.

I have to agree with Bonnie, it would must feel off of this movie had one if the last one didn't.

Though I do agree on the fact that there may not be a villain (most likely, considering the fact that they managed to do it and pull it off with Inside Out) I'm also considering maybe (Possible spoilers bases on thoughts and observations, proceed with caution! I'm serious!) a certain seven armed octopus as a bad guy. He may want to escape to the sea, but can't since he's in the rehabilitation institute and the institute has to keep him because they won't release an octopus that only has seven arms and may not survive in the ocean. Besides, they're promoting him as a friend, and I think they did the same with Lotso in Toy Story 3. Just a thought...

Interesting theory, Peace_Love_Pixar. I do think Pixar will not go with a traditional villain for this film though, for example like Thunderclap from The Good Dinosaur. But I could see Hank as a good guy or a bad guy, but I don't know quite enough about the character yet, to judge his affiliations, as I haven't yet seen any footage of him. Perhaps as new trailers and tv spots and such starting rolling in, and we see more of Hank featured in them, perhaps then I can judge if he is truly the baddy of the film.

Fun fact: Found this one out in the Art of Inside Out book, but a character named Gloom was originally going to be the villain. And as Riley grew older and older Gloom got bigger and bigger and tried to take over Riley.

Interesting how huge ideas change over such little time

I would also agree that there probably is some fish out there constantly causing havoc for Dory to try and keep her away from her family. But I could see Hank as setting Dory back for his own selfish gain at some point (but again all speculation)
What I think is more likely is that the rehabilitation center and the obvious separation from Dorys family is the main villain. Similar to FN with the separation of father and son, and being held in a tank in a dentists office.
Although that being said I could also imagine the animals in the rehabilitation center viewing it mindlessly as a resort/spa and not want to leave or being afraid to leave causing more conflict.
Yes I contradicted myself but it really can go anywhere at this point

Thanks. [wink]

What do you mean by traditional villain though? An overall antagonist (Like Auto from Wall-E or Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2) or a small bad guy (Like the fish that attacked Marlin and Dory in Finding Nemo or Jangles the Clown)? Cause depending on who you ask, Thunderclap could have been either, I suppose.

Me too. He could be interested in helping Dory out, but at the same time, not. I guess we're gonna have to wait for some info or footage of him before we'll find out.

An overall antagonist, is a traditional villian, kind of like Scar from the Lion King or Lotso from Toy Story 3.
