Hey everyone! On May 29th, there will be an advanced screening of Inside Out in NYC from 7- 9:30. There will also be a live Q&A with director Pete Docter and Producer Jonas Rivera. I just bought my tickets- anyone else gonna do it?

I wish I could go! It really sucks living in Europe. I hope I can go to Annecy this year, but I doubt it...

I'll hold out for a screening closer to home. I'm a Seattle-area native, and our annual film festival is in a few weeks' time, the size of which is somewhat comparable to Sundance, if not slightly bigger. They did present Brave and MU in the past; almost went to the latter, but declined to allow the opportunity for a full Pixar rewatch ahead of the general release. Since they played HTTYD2 during the fest last year (to a very receptive audience, I should point out), and I'm betting everything on the film being screened at Cannes, who's to say we won't have it here? That or I'll beg a local studio rep to put me on the VIP list for a more secretive press event closer to 6/19. We'll find out on the 30th.

Inside Out will be screened at Cannes film festival, it was confirmed.

Update: I just re-checked and it has not been confirmed(till April 16), but it is very likely it will make it´s debut at Cannes

Oh gah, I'm in Pennsylvania, I'm relatively close!

I wonder if I could convince my parents to take me as a graduation gift. I'll have to ask as soon as possible.

Gotta say, though, the price is kind of...really? Five bucks? Is that for real? That's like less than half a run of the mill movie theater ticket. I was expecting like fifty at the least.

Yup- this is as real and legit as it gets. $5 bucks is typical for the type of thing. When we went to the Monsters University college advanced screening 2 Aprils ago, it was free! [smile] Hope you can make it, a graduation gift sounds like a good plan to me!

Asked, I have to wait till tomorrow to buy the tickets, but I can go. [Big-Grin_zps23ec4c40]

So now I just have to hope tickets don't go fast. [Sad_zpsb02439e1]

Hey, can anyone here answer some questions for me?

Parent put off buying the tickets and then they sold out, so...do they still have rush tickets you can buy at the door if they're sold out online? Is it really hard to get those? Will I have to show up like five hours in advance just to have a shot?

And does anyone have a rough estimate of how long Q&As at these types of things go on?

Well, I wish I could say for sure...but I'd guess that you'll get a short intro before the movie airs (10-15 minutes) and then Pete and Jonas will probably take another 15-30 minutes for questions after. That's just a guess, but they usually aren't too long because the audiences typically ask basic questions like, "what's your favorite Pixar character" and things like that...so Pete would typically go through those pretty quick.

Just my thoughts. As far as them offering tickets at the door - I don't have any input there since it will depend on how much of an appetite New Yorker's will have for the movie. Good luck, let us know what happens!

Seattle is confirmed, and Pete's stopping by:

If the screening ends up taking place on the 4th, let's just hope I can make it to the venue in time after school. Latest class on my college sched this quarter doesn't let out until 5:20, so fingers crossed.

Pixar is really shopping this out there. While it's not as bold as the Ratatouille and Monsters University sneak previews (both of which were weeks prior to the release date), it's nice that they're holding many special viewing occasions prior to the release week.

Ticket for 6/4 is officially got. Now I just gotta hope I'll get there from school in time. That probably won't be a problem, but you never know.
