After my collection 'sneak peek', a few seemed most interested in my Japan exclusives. So here is the first set I am showing. These are action cast figures, produced by Bandai in 2013. There are 5 in the set and these are in close scale to the Spin Master scare students. Most of the box is in Japanese and I have no clue what it says. Enjoy.

The whole set in boxes. It is odd to me there is no consistency in package size. Mike and Squishy are in the same size box and Sulley and Hardscrabble match, and Art stands alone.

The entire set loose

Mike Wazowski:
If you move his left arm in the upward position, he has 3 different eye poses.

By squeezing his legs, he throws his arms up and his mouth opens very similar to the Spin Master scare major, but more in scale with the scare student line.

Although it is much smaller than the Disney store exclusive, it has two wheels on the bottom that makes it roll and the little feet move. The wings go up and down as well. It was also the hardest one in the set to acquire and at one time I had an extra, but sold it to a guy that works for Pixar studios.

Much like Dean Hardscrabble, he has a wheel on one foot and when you scoot him, his eyes move different directions.

Eyes facing right

Eyes facing left

Very poseable and can display him in many poses.

Thanks for looking!

That is such a cool set! That is so cool about the Hardscrabble that you sold to a Pixar employee - I guess I'd feel like that would be a good person to sell it to. Hardscrabble certainly went to a good home. Plus, that figure is way too cool with the moving wings and feet!

I love the extra details that they put into the moveable eyes on Squishy and Mike. The Art looks extremely similar to the Spin Master Scare Student one - at least in the photos it does.

Do you happen to know anything else about the series as well - for instance, I'm assuming that they never made a Terry & Terri (since I figured you'd own it if they did - ha!)? Were they limited edition at all or anything like that?

I do know there were only 5 made. No Terry & Terri or Don. I got these from a pretty big toy company in Japan or at least they seem pretty big to me.

Hardscrabble has great features, but as far as looks, the Disney store version looks nicer. But doesn't have the features though.

The guy in Japan said his company only received 5 or 6 sets. I have seen a few sets on ebay but these are mostly on amazon and of course amazon wants bigger prices for them.

however I did see a different version of Mike pop up online but he had a hat on so I ordered a couple of them because I thought it possibly was a variant. But once I received it the box, it was very faded and looked like it was copied and the figure inside it was just a little vinyl figure. I'm assuming it was a bootleg because the company I ordered the rest of them from had never seen or heard of it. Plus it was vinyl, not hard plastic and had no movement.

Art is very much like the scare student, but has more movement and seems to be more of a rubber material.

Ugh, that really stinks about the one that's a "most likely" bootleg one. Yeah, I totally agree on the Hardscrabbles as well - the Disney Story one (along with the Archie) are the best ones I've seen by far visually, but those features on the other is so cool!
