Pixar Post - T.J.
It was a nice surprise when I went to Subway this evening to run across a new promotion featuring The Good Dinosaur. When returning home I went on the Subway website and was even more surprised to find new images of characters as part of a few online games - check out the full writeup here, but here are a few images!

What was crazy was the mention of Libby - although there was a brief note of her online previously, the official release from Pixar didn't mention who would be voicing her when they released the updated vocal cast in June.

Arlo doesn't look like either parent. [Confused_zps36c72db0] Eh, neither did Remy, I guess.

Butch looks like Poppa, Libby looks like Momma, but Arlo doesn't look like either one, strange.. I really like the designs though, they remind me of the original designs of the siblings, just younger. I still prefer the original names, Forrest, Cliff and Ivy.

My theory is that Arlo is the middle child (or the last one to be born out of his family) because of the designs of Libby (love her design btw) and Buck resembling their parents, but I really feel sorry for Momma and Poppa if Arlo was born with his long nose

Or, maybe he was born that way

(Sorry I don't know much about genes)

Arlo and Buck are supposed to be the same age (they're twins?!). There was an open casting call for the voice of Buck here in The Netherlands (I was just one week too old to audition) and the description of the character mentioned that they're the same age, Buck is just tougher than Arlo is.

Also, do we know who will be voicing Libby? No voice-actress has been announced yet and she seems to have the age where you'll most likely talk.

Don't dinosaurs have egg clutches instead of one baby at a time? Maybe they're going with that and all of them are technically the same age.

Alternatively, and probably more likely cause again this is the studio that had a rat family of three, fraternal twins.

And I kind of want to say that maybe Libby's just mute, but that'd seem like an odd choice for a side character.

I like the look of Libby, Arlo, and Momma, but not really of Poppa and Buck (Though I think Buck looks better than Poppa). I like Spot's design, but I really hope the filmmakers didn't go overboard trying to make the point that Spot is like Arlo's pet dog. I mean, often in movies nowadays you see animals that are completely not related to canines acting like dogs, so I hope they don't do that to Spot. I also like the T-Rexes design; it looks great. [smile] And I also don't think Arlo looks much like either of his parents, but like Bonnie said, Remy didn't look much like his dad either.

Nice!!

Perhaps Arlo not looking like either of his parents is an artistic flourish? After all, the whole cartoony-dinosaur-on-a-photorealistic-backdrop thing was intentional, to show how Arlo doesn't fit in with the hostile, unfamiliar environment.

Also I want to say that it feels strangely but really satisfying that Subway is going from Inside Out to Good Dino and snubbing inferior films such as Minions and Hotel Transylvania 2 lol

quick update from a new Good Dino post on our homepage...The actor that voices Buck (Marcus Scribner) recently stated "The Good Dinosaur was a blast to work on. I play Buck who is the scrappy older brother of the main character, Arlo. He is a tough Apatosaurus who is willing to work hard and loves to play some mischievous tricks."

Pretty cool to hear a little more about Buck and some of his character traits!
