Based on this alleged document for D23.

I think it could possibly be true, but "Muertos" translates from Spanish as "The Dead" as in a group of dead people. I think anyone could see the problem with that. [Smug_zpsbec03801]

I don´t really like the name all that much, it doesnt have that Pixar feeling.

Toy Story
Monsters Inc
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Ratatouille
Wall-E
Up
Inside Out
The Good Dinosaur
Muertos

It doesn´t really fit-in. But the name could get changed, I mean, at D23 2009, brave was revealed as The Bear and the Bow. Regardless of the superior name that was The Bear and the Bow. But I´m really exited to see what Unkrich has under his sleeve. He did a fantastic job with Toy Story 3 and I can see him becoming part of the 4 main Pixar directors along with Pete, John, Andrew and Brad (even though John has been disappointing the hell out of me lately). The dude is a genius and he deserves more praise. I´m vaguely interested, hopefully that turns into I CANT WAIT FOR THIS as they reveal more of this project.

I'm sad it is not real, but hopefully we will learn about real facts about the movie. Also the real release dates for 'Incredibles 2' and 'Cars 3'. [Winking_zps1d9118ce]

Pretty clever prank. I'll share my thoughts anyway, even though it's not real.
I don't think it would be a good idea to call it that. As Paul mentioned, it translates to The Dead. I don't have a problem with that, but there are plenty of people who would. There is also a problem with people not knowing what the word even is. Spanish is a very common language, but there are far more people who don't speak Spanish than people who do. This would be inconvenient to say the least, as it was with Pixar having to pronounce Ratatouille in the trailer for it.

I know this is fake, but if it hadn't been it wouldn't have really surprised me. Really on the nose /uncreative titles is something I kind of expect from them. There are a few exceptions, but in general they don't really go for cleverness, IMO.

My dad, who spent some time in Venezuela, was confused and laughed at the title. He knows that "muertos" means "deads". He remarked that a funnier title would me "Soy Muerto" or "I'm Dead." [Laughing_zpsee77b0c4]

If this was real, I don't think it would sell well in Spanish speaking countries or even countries with any other Latin-based language.

For Spanish speaking countries they would probably re-name it.

The question of what the title would be was still very much open at the time of this thread being made; it's a year old, the name "Coco" hadn't been announced yet. The sub-forum , at the time, was called something like "Untitled Pixar Film About Dios Los Meurtos" (apologies to any Spanish speakers for my butchering of those words).
