Pixar Post - T.J.
Well, the review embargo has lifted officially at Noon ET today (June 16) and our initial spoiler-free review has been posted.

Julie really enjoyed the film (I haven't see it yet but will in a few days). From talking to her about it, I appreciate that she said the film does dabble into throw-back jokes and nostalgia, but it doesn't rely on it to advance the film. Also, she loved the new toys, especially Smarty Pants!

What else is everyone seeing out there about the film. Initial reviews seem generally positive. Although this film probably won't reach critical heights like the original trio, it will certainly do well at the box office (as all early indicators show).

Early reviews are in and Rotten Tomatoes has the film at a 91% (66 reviews) and Meta Critic has it at 72% (31 reviews).

Well I went to see Toy story 5 today with my family and wanted to share my thoughts. I don't think this is the best toy story but it didn't need to be. I still had a lot of fun. I think number 3 will always be my favorite. I was nervous about smarty pants going in as I really don't care for potty humor. I actually ended up liking him and he wasn't annoying. He was way more high tech and used differently then I expected. I also like how they changed the animation style during make belive scenes. I love it wen they mess with diffrent styles in animation. I feel like this movie was made with longtime fans in mind. There were many call backs to previous films especially number 2. My dad wasn't sure he'd seen that one or if he had it'd been a while so he was asking me backround questions about Emily. He didn't understand the time capsle box Jessie found. That's really my only complaint that stuff like that makes more sense if you've seen all the film's though I bet a majority of people have seen all or most of them if there going to this one. I really liked the message on tec and think it was handled well. Tec can be usfull but too much of it can be bad. Screen addiction is becoming a real problem for many. I think it was high time the toys had to deal with technology. Up to now that topic was only briefly addressed in the short christmas special. But that was short and didn't go in depth on it. Kida wished they'd played when somboby loved me in the credits though a verson without words was in the scor. The Taylor Swift song was nice but there's enough time they could have done both. Overall I thought it was fun and nastolgic and would probably rank it about an 8 out of 10.
