Hey y'all! (new to the forums) but have been lurking & decided it was time to join! [smile]

Anyways I have a few theories on Bing Bong. I'm drawn to believe he's Riley's childhood imaginary friend, who, as she's thrown into emotional turmoil and is growing up, is starting to fade from importance - perhaps even cast into the furthest reaches of the mind. One account I read on the internet said that elements in the Imagination Land are changing as Riley grows...one attraction turns into a "Dream Boyfriend Generator" etc., so perhaps as Riley's world expands, imaginary friends have fewer places to linger...And on Joy & Sadness' journey across the mind, they may have to rescue him before it's "too late". Or maybe he helps them save Headquarters.

Notice in those decals, he's seen carrying Joy & Sadness in the upper left sticker.

Also a toy was announced, that "smells like cotton candy" and I saw some description (I forget where) saying he's a Cotton Candy Elephant who cries candy. Lending to the imaginary friend belief. Also, costume wise...the gloves & jacket just make me think of a drifter of sorts, who would be found riding around the train of thought.

Just some of my thoughts from various things I've seen across the internet [smile] Super excited. 4 months!!

Good thoughts! I definitely feel like this could be the case, especially about Bing Bong being a "drifter" and riding on the Train of Thought. I feel mostly that he will help them find their way back to Headquarters.

Thanks so much y'all! [smile] happy to be here! Cannot wait to see this film. Probably one of my most-anticipated of Pixar's films!

I´m thinking that Bing Bong could most definetly be a villain, and a very bad one for that matter.

1)Bing Bong was forgotten by Riley when she outgrew him right? Right.

2)Little kids create imaginary friends to have someone to relate too. Little kids create imaginary friends that are like them, or imaginary friends that they wish they could be like. So that means Bing Bong probably has a very similar personality to the one of Riley. We saw in the first official trailer that Riley is not a very forgiving person, she is still holding a grudge against her dad for moving to San Francisco and is handling it in a very immature way.

3)Bing Bong could much definetly be the same, he is not very forgiving and has a grudge, and since the emotions are the thing that made Riley like this in the first place, he might be the villian inside the head. And instead of helping Joy and Sadness, he is actually helping himself.

This movie is making me theorize like craazy!!

He gives me villain vibes too! It has to do with a number of things, such as his cute, snuggly, pink and playful persona, and the fact that he looks kind of "off" when you take a second glance at him. As if he could actually be creepy and somewhat twisted. I really don't know what to think of him, because I feel like I'm wrong and that he actually is harmless. But he DOES give me a sort of Lotso vibe.

I mean, the fact that Pixar is keeping him such a secret might mean he's a twist villain, or just that he's a surprisingly important good guy, like the main attraction of the movie. He's so intriguing that I want his merch [tongue] Pixar is smart to do this for that reason haha because I doubt I'm the only one.

I wonder if they'll release more Bing Bong merch once the movie is out and it'd no longer be a spoiler?? Cuz I'm sure some collectors would want as much of him as the other (awesome) characters.
